Q: Carpal Tunnel Moving Into Back???

Mid jan. I started with minor carpal tunnel symptoms, it has given me pain all the way up into my outer upper arm. I can no longer extend my arm out or put my arm behind me, the pain in the upper arm is too intense. About 1 week ago started having severe upper (apprx 10 inches from my neck) alittle to the right of center deep sharp back pain, worse when i'm in bed, or on a soft chair or couch. I'm being progressively immobilized here, help. I assumed it was carpal tunnel, now the wrist and hand pain is almost gone (did some carpal tunnel excercises), the upper arm and arm mobility issue still exists, but it's moved into disabling pain in this back area. Is this normal for carpal tunnel, is this travelling along one main nerve? Has anyone had any experience with this? How can I cure this??? Help, the pain has gotten unbearable. Anyone with any info out there??? Thanks for any responses.

Thanks for the reply, truth is it eventually just went almost away, (out of sight, out of mind mentality on my part), but guess what? It's back with a vengeance of course. I feel like i'm being stabbed deep in this back area, sporadically during the day and night, seems to depend on how I move, and I avoid moving when I know it's in "flare up" mode. I will have to make an appointment soon as I can't keep living in denial when the pain subsides on a temporary basis only. Thanks.
