I am just concerned because I have purchased the product norforms vaginal suppositories, and I understand that douching regulary could cause a bacterial infection. Does using norform pose any risks? Please someone message me back with any info. Thank you!

I don't know what those are sorry. But I wanted to add that douching at all can cause infections. Not just douching regularly. Doctors say not to do it all because it strips the vagina of its natural cleansers and leaves you more prone to infection, etc.
I would try looking up those suppositories on yahoo and see what kind of info pops up. Sorry I couldn't help more!

I hope norforms suppositories are safe. I started using them only two months ago, and they are a godsend! I had suffered from embarrassing vaginal odor for years, and it had worsened when I entered menopause. It was so frustrating because I have very clean hygiene, but the offensive smell persisted. My gyno always told me to use a "mild cleanser" daily, so I tried many different brands, but none of them worked to alleviate the problem. I finally decided to give norforms a try, and after the very first suppository the odor was completely gone, literally overnight! I was ecstatic and feel like a new person with more confidence, especially with the warmer weather coming when I can't hide behind layers of clothing. I'd be absolutely crushed if they aren't a good product to use :(

I am looking to use these as well...As far as the 17 year old worried about how far to stick them up and if they are safe. If you have ever used a tampon, I don't think ti would be much of a difference except that these are much smaller. Your vagina has a cervix, thus there is only so far you can stick anything up your vagina! Also things like norforms and tampons do not break your hymen, I used my first tampon at 13, and my hymen was intact until I lost my virginity.

Ladies, stop using Norforms
Norforms are nothing but deodorant suppositories, born out of the belief that our vaginas are dirty and smelly and that they need to smell like fresh flowers at all times, which is just wrong.

Diet, lack of proper rest and exercise, and the changes in a woman's cycle all affect the pH and scent of the vagina, but Norforms and other products (like FDS spray) leave you prone to bacterial vaginosis, which is what it sounds like you're all experiencing forms of.

Watery strong-scented discharge? Yeah, that's BV.

Treat the problem internally. Probiotics usually help, as does Oil of Oregano.

Try the Jarrow Pharmaceuticals Enhanced Probiotic System, or Wellness brand Oil of Oregano. Both of these are available at Whole Foods or any health food store, and they offer natural long term solutions to this problem.

Norforms is just deodorant, and any doctor worth her salt will tell you that they're in the same category as douches, ie, NOT TO BE USED.

For the treatment of BV using oil of oregano, take a dropper full in the morning and a dropper full at night before you go to bed for three days and you should be back to normal, NATURALLY, and without covering it up with some deodorant, which is what Norforms are.

Oil of Oregano is extremely strong--strong enough to make you shiver--but lean your head all the way back, drop the oil in your mouth, and swallow it quickly. You'll have the breath of a 100 pizzas, but you chase it with some water and you should be OK. It works for colds, too, as it clears mucus and is a natural antifungal.

For the probiotics, use as directed on the box for about a week and you should see a decrease if not total cessation of the discharge.

You have nothing to lose.

Norforms IS an anti-infective!!
The post above is not true - norforms are catagorized by the American Hospital Formulary System as "anti-infectives" because of the active ingredient, which is Benzethonium Chloride. It is an anti-infective, not just a deodorant. That's why they work so well. They must not be a big money maker for the company that makes them, because they are not marketed very well. I think they are awesome! I wish I could find the unscented ones because I think the perfume probably doesn't do anything but irritate!

Yes norforms are safe. I been using them for years and when I first started I talked to my OBGYN and she said they were fine no side affects.
