Ok so heres the story. I'm on orthoevra the birth control patch. This is my week off so I started to get my period today while I was having sex which is really weird but yea, anyways, the condom broke and im paranoid that I could be preg. Is there anyway? Does the orthoevra still work as birthcontrol on the week off?

The only way that you could get pregnant is if this is your first month taking the pill or you dont take your pill regularly. Now I know that you may miss 1 or 2 times but if you frequently forget to take your pill then it may not work. Other than that I think you are safe.

I did the patch at first and my doctor explained to me that if you apply every patch and do it right ....(not take them off to soon and change them out when your suppose to) then the week that you are off you are fine ....The only reason that I stopped doing the patch is because it started making my skin peal and it made scars every time I took them off...But your probably not pregnant ...Just take a hpt just to make you feel a little better....
