Weight Gain
I had asked my doctor about weight gain before I started birth control. She said that the pill can make you more hungry and that is why most people gain weight. She said that 5 lbs should be the most and from water retention, but I know that everyone's bodies respond differently to birth control too. Maybe you could request a different brand of birth control. As for the hair loss. I've never heard about that with birth control before. I had a friend who had that problem and she got her thyroid tested. Hope I helped!

Advice...
I think that the extra 30 lbs or not, you will be beautilful on your wedding day!... But to boost your esteem, try exercising!! Eat healthy, and drink a glass or two of water before you eat supper/ dinner/ lunch.
Sarah!~ good luck!

Birth control pills
Congrats on the wedding!!!!
I was married about 8 months ago and know how you feel!
I went on the pill due to military reasons and have put on more inches/bloating more than true weight gain. I think I put on 10-15 lbs though. And my appetite hasn't increased because I feel so fat and gross that I avoid junk because I have been a competitive bodybuilder and know how hard it is to take off weight! So for me, I switched to eating salad and fresh veggies and fruit. I think that fruit juice is the most sugar I get other than a little in my coffee but I also work out and walk my dog regularly. I will start running and hope it will take off some pounds but short of starving myself to death.....I think the weight's here to stay!!!
I jumped from barely an A cup to a full C and my pants are fitting really tight. It is uncomfortable because I work so hard to stay healthy and now I have a layer of fat all over my body. This is affecting my self esteem more than anything becuase my husband has told me I did gain weight but he likes my larger breasts, but it still makes it uncomfortable to be naked in daylight around him.
So, if you are not worried to get pregnant in the next 7 months by avoiding sex (abstinance) I recommend a diet of natural foods (not nec. organic) but whole, raw foods like frozen/fresh veggies and fruits, nuts, legumes, rice and beans, potatoes, chicken, fish, soy or tofu, etc.. Basically, nothing that comes from a box or frozen. Avoid fast food unless it's the last resort because that food is loaded with empty calories and fat that will be more than your entire daily limit!!! Limit your sugars and the amount of carbonated soda or beverages as this depletes your body's ability to absorb calcium which leads to osteoperosis....but you should be drinking about 4 liters of water a day with vitamins and minerals for energy and assimiliation of macronutrients (food; protein, carbs and fat). I also recommend a fatty acid supplement you can purchase at Walmart or a vitamin store. Make sure though that it contains all omegas (3,6 and 9) which gives your body all of the fats it needs. These fats lubricate joints and are anti-inflammatory in nature which help the entire body plus they also aid in fat soluble vitamin absorption!!! It helps the skin, hair and nails to be beautiful for your weddnig day!!!

I'm sure you're already beautiful in his eyes, so if you are worried to make him like your body more, do this for yourself and no matter what, the inner self image makes us more beautiful! There are plenty of models that look gross because they are way too skinny or thin. Beauty is inside. Look at Queen Latifa! She's beautiful and she's a larger woman!

So, be yourself and be healthy to live longer. Even if you never make it down to a size 2, you will feel better and be healthy! Not all of us are meant to be skinny......I am typically 150 lbs and am 5'3" but have lots of muscle! I too, had a thick build as a little girl......but always ate healthy.
Hope it helps......
Discuss the pill with your fiancee too. Let him be a part of the decision process now to make it easier when you do get married Very Happy
