Hey
Hey hey

hey your weight gain can be cuased by birth control.. Another thing u might want to look into is your thyroid.. If ur having problems losing the weight... I could gain weight no problem but I couldnt lose it so I got my thyroid checked and it turned out I have hypo thyroid and which means I have almost no metablisiom and u need a metabilisim in order to lose weight... So I would go talk to a doctor and find out his opinion and ask him about thyroid...

I have graves disease ( a thyroid disease) and when I started the pill ( yasmin) 3 months ago, all of my tsh and t3/ t4 levels were within normal range. # months later, and 5 lbs heavier, my thyroid levels are way off ( after being stable for 2 years post rai). So, if you do have a thyroid problem ( even undiagnosed) the pill could effect that and cause weight gain due to a slowed metabolism if you are hypothyroid. I don't know if the pill itself can cause weight gain..Just cravings etc that we ourselves feed into. Good luck!

I am on the same pill and feel like it has caused weight gain. I went off of it for a couple months and easily slimmed down, but then gained extra weight again when I started taking it again. (not a lot but around 10 pounds)
i wonder if a different pill or a patch or shot would make a difference.

I too would suggest a possible thyroid disorder which can also cause hair loss!! But weight gain & hair loss can also be a result of stress & so if the pill started the weight gain this plus stress re wedding would make it worse.

I've heard recent evidence that the pill doesnt cause large amount of weight gain, usually around 5-10 lbs if that... Talk to your doctor, of course... I traded the pill & all of its side effects for a copper iud a few months ago.. No side effects, same effectiveness, and you dont have to worry about it for 10 years.
