Hi I need to ask a question . 2yrs ago I was pregnant and had a miscarriage, I did not have a dnc done. Is not having a dnc done bad for you. I havent been able to get pregnant after that ,may that be the reason or problem causing me not to get pregnant. :(

Dnc
Hi vi, I also had a miscarriage a few years ago and didn't need to have a dnc done as I was only about a month or so along. I think it depends on how far along you are whether a dnc is necessary or not. Did you go to a dr?

Other Problems At the Cause...
I'm sorry to hear about your struggle. You might want to do some research and ask your doctor about endometriosis which can make getting pregnant a challenge. You may have some endometrial tissue blocking fallopian tubes or complicating your uterus or ovaries. Ovarian cysts may also be plausible as a pregnancy challenge. I've had endometriosis and surgery to clean it out. They told me I may have trouble getting pregnant, though i've never really tried.

I hope this helps, be patient with yourself on this road to discovering the answers.

Hugs,
lisa

Not all women who miscarry need a d&c. The ob/gyn can determine if it is necessary after a pelvic exam. If you did not have a d&c, then you passed a complete spontaneous abortion. D&c's are only needed if you have an incomplete spontaneous abortion. I hate the word abortion, but that is the medical term. I also agree with the endometriosis. I would ask my ob/gyn to do a diagnostic laparoscopy with a tubal patentcy. This would rule out any mechanical problems with conception on your part.
