This may seem naive but is there any other way in which chlamidya can be contracted other than sexually or orally? Both myself and partner contracted it, we have been together 6 yrs and were both negative for stds when we first got together and I have had no other sexual partners. We saw separate doctors and he seems to think that there is a tiny chance that it can be caught from toilet seats. Help I dont no what to think!
Um, sounds like your partner was with someone else. You cannot contract chlamydia from a toilet seat! Unless there is vaginal fluids, or seminal fluids on the seat and you rub them all through your privates, which I seriously doubt either of you did.
Chlamydia is gotten through sexual intercourse plain and simple. So, I would definately be asking several questions!
I asked loads of questions in the beginning fearing the worst but he strongly denied and still does that he has done anything with anyone else, which is why I needed another opinion, for my own sanity! Thanks.
My sister has been married for 5 years and recently went to the gyno and found out she had chlamydia. She has been faithful to her husband, and he had been faithful to her, so she is in your same boat. Her doc said it was possible that she or her husband had had chlamydia before and it is just now showing up on the tests - sometimes they are wrong, especially if when tested, you had just contracted the std. Chlamydia is very common and easily cureable, so if you believe your partner, then I would not worry. You may also want to think about condoms though.
Chlamydia is a very common std. Chlamydia isn't the kind of std that lies dormant and undetected. It is sexually transmitted and isn't contracted any other way, and if you were tested (and you had it at the time you were tested) it would have shown up then. So, someone was not faithful.
My doctor was understandably reluctant to confirm my suspicions which is why looking back now, I can understand how others may have used this to their advantage. Doctors should not feel responsible for peoples actions but tell it like it is. I know that I will never know the truth . :(
I have read some posts in this forum where people's doctors wont tell them that they have std's because then that would mean their spouse was cheating? That is so messed up! Doctor's regardless of their beliefs, have a moral obligation to explain these things to you! Including that std's are not contracted in any other way then sexual contact! The only thing you can get from a toilet seat is lice and crabs, etc. Not stds that are spread through sexual contact or through sexual fluids. Those docs need fired!
