To start off with, this is a long post, so I understand if you do not read it :d

my mother has been diagnosed with ms many years ago and I was semi-aware that ms may be hereditary. I have had many undiagnosed issues in the past 5-7 years (i am 26 years old) because I never wanted to go to the doctor.

Well, about a month ago I had an issue with having to urinate constantly. I went to the doctor and they ruled out stones, infection, etc. And seemed almost baffled by it. It ran its course in about a weeks time (it sucked having to urinate every 5 minutes without fail...Very uncomfortable). Not sure what was going on, and disheartened because the doctor seemed unconcerned about this, I turned to the internet to seek out what it may be. While searching, I found a post about someone with ms having this same issue, and it would come and go at will.

So I returned to my doctor to explain the history of ms in my family and wanting to see about diagnosis. I explained my other symptoms to him and he agreed that I need to have an mri. I left with them saying I should get a call from the facility the next day for an appointment.

Well, the call the next day was from the facility saying my insurance was not going to pay for the test until I see a neurologist. Ok, fine. I call my doctor and they tell me that this is a very weird request and they would call me back after they spoke to my insurance company. From that point I have not heard from them since. So I will call again tomorrow and see whats going on.

My main issue right now is while looking at the symptoms on different sites (and I know symptoms vary with each person) I cannot tell if what I have may be ms. I thought maybe I could post my symptoms to you all and you could let me know if this is common in ms or if this is going to be something totally different. This also helps me get my list of symptoms together for when I eventually see the neurologist. Ok so here are my symptoms, in no specific order:

-pain in my chest where breathing in past a certain amount hurts bad. Seems to be in the general area of my heart. Occurs mostly when lying down, about 3-4 times a month at least.
-varying vision. I had lasik eye surgery and had better than perfect vision afterward. Some days I find I squint at everything, some days vision just fine.
-weakness in arms/hands. Some days I cannot open a jar of food or open the pop-top on a can of soda.
-burning/itching of the feet.
-weird headaches where I get quick "pulses" at my temples. Last for about 10 seconds, but very painful. The pain comes in 4-8 "pulses". Happens about 3 times a month.
-memory problems. Days where I cannot remember my coworkers names (i only work with 10 people and have been employed there with them for 2 years). Also, short term memory is pretty much gone. Give me instructions and 30 seconds later I have no clue what you said.
-tightness in joints/tendons. Can be painful at times.
-sleep problems. Just as I am about to fall asleep, I jump almost out of my skin for no reason. No sounds, motions, anything...Just triggers just before I fall asleep. I can be dead tired, and when this happens I wake up so it makes it hard to fall asleep again.

I am sure I have more, but these seem to be the major ones. Speaking with my mom, I have some things that she experienced at the onset many years ago. I wanted to know if anyone with ms has experieced these symptoms, as I want to know if this *may* be ms. I know every case is different, but hope someone here may have these or know what these may be. Whatever help you can give would be wonderful as my doctor isnt too helpful.
