Q: Need Advice

My girlfriend has had a hysterectomy at age 23. She recently went to the doctors and they put her on birth control to shrink the cysts on the remaining ovary. She has been told that she is starting menopause and that is the reason for her hot flashes and sudden outbursts of tears. She is having a hard time dealing with this being so young and all. We have been saving to do invetro for another child, sence cancer took that option from us. She is worried that her starting menopause is going to affect our chances, is there any advice out there that can help her sleep or get through this? :?:

Did she have a hysterectomy or just an ovary removed? A hysterectomy involves removing the uterus, which would prevent her from having or carrying a child. Or are you talking about her getting a surrogate mother? Early menopause is possible with the loss of one ovary, but not always guarunteed and it's still possible that the symptoms are from adjusting to the difference in hormones. My mother had one ovary removed just after having my brother (at 31), but she didn't go through menopause until a normal age.
