Q: Somebody's Watching Me

My wife wakes up several times during the night. She says that she always feels like somebody is watching her. She will occasionally wake up screaming, or very frightened. But most of the time she just feels like somebody's in the room watching her sleep.
She does not complain of any kind of sleep paralysis, does not think she's been abducted or anything like that. It just interferes with a good night's sleep.

Does anybody have a name for this condition? I would think night terrors, but i'm just not certain since the majority of the time it's "just a feeling".

I do not know the proper name for her sleep disorder, but it definatly needs to be diagnosed and treated.

She may need something as simple as a sleep aid like ambien or she may need some kind of a mental stability drug. I am not a doctor but I am trying to get into medical school. (this means I am still totally unqualified to help :) )

please have her see your family doctor and if he/she cannot help her, hopefuly they will refer her to someone that can.

Did you ever diagnose your spouses sleeping disorder? I too am experiencing the same thing and it is progressively getting worse, or more common. I basically see a human shape, no special features, and am always worried it's a home invasion or something. I know I'm talking or screaming because my husband is trying to get ahold of me to focus, there is no one in the room. Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.
