Hi there I just wondering if you could take a minute and give me some suggestions or help.

I think im hiv positive but am not sure

i had unprotected sex about 2 and a half years ago I was 16 and the women I had sex was 23, I keep thinking if she has given me it I was really stupid just did not even think about it even though the last time I done it I swore I would not do it again,
for the last 8months I have been having symptoms of hiv.
The symptoms just started like someone turning on a tap I think maybe the tiredness may have started earlier because this is hard to tell, you can make a hundred excuses for being tired. Anyway it started with just a full week of bad diarrhea but apart from that feeling perfectly fine, soon after I started getting a dry cough which was pretty bad I was coughing all the time actually and went to see the doctor about it, and she could see no problem, about a month later the night sweats came, waking up soaking in the middle of the night. Thats when I got very worried and contact my doctor. My doctor took blood samples looking for blood count information and testing for diabetes both came back fine,
i was getting really worried about the whole thing and was starting to get pretty scared about it being hiv and did not tell my doctor as I felt I was not ready,
soon after this my symptoms changed in a big way my dry cough stopped the night sweats just stopped out of the blue. My diarrhea changed from being full diarrhea to still needing the toilet when I eat but most of the time it is solid but I still got loose stools sometimes.
I was quite relived when this happened but the loose stools or urge to go to the toilet was still there, and on my mind.
I then one day I just decided that I would go up and get tested for all sexual infections I felt I had to just to put my mind at rest, the doctor said that everything looked fine and took tests including the hiv test.
After about two weeks of thinking they are going to phone me and tell me the bad news I received a letter clearing me of all diseases, this was a massive relief, but that sadly was short lived.

My symptoms are still here but they are now feeling tired no energy, weak muscles, blisters on my tongue, tremors of arms and muscles, rashes, bloating, memory loss, and I seem to have very warm hands and they sweat at my fingertips,

i have lost faith in my doctor as he basically does not know, I know I should speak to my family but I don't want to get them worried, I cant seem to think about my future without the hiv thing popping into my thoughts, im only 19 now and its really getting me down I have tested negative but still have all the symptoms and cant seem to see anyother disease or virus that it might be,

any help plz will be much appreciated

I think you should just get tested .... Because I thought I had hiv/aids but I was just paranoid so I went to a clinic for free testing around my area and mine came out negative. I think you should just do it get it done and over with so you can have those weights lifted off your shoulders knowing if you have it or not , than worrying .

You maybe suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome (cfs) which is still very difficult for many doctors to identify.

Some of the less well documented symptoms of cfs include heavy night sweats which normally start and then end abruptly.

The general feeling of weakness you describe alone with the opportunistic problems such as mouth ulcers/blisters are all quite consistent with cfs.

You may like to do a search on cfs and compare it to your situation.

Yes, but keep in mind...Chronic fatigue syndrome is just an invented condition which doctors diagnose when they really don't know what is wrong with you. It is not a proven condition. Has no causes or cures. Same with fibromyalgia (and I think I spelled that wrong.) it is a condition, no doubt, but they don't really know what it is or anything about it. People diagnosed with cfs or fibro.. Could have various conditions but we just don't know anything about them or how to treat them, so they are given a common diagnosis.
Hopefully, you are just suffering from the symptoms of what they call chronic fatigue syndrome and nothing else. To set your mind at ease, just get tested. If it is hiv you can live a long life, but you have to start treating it early. The longer you wait to see if that is even what you have, the more risk you are of becoming very ill.

Probability
Please remember that each episode of vaginal intercourse with an hiv positive person, carries around 1-3% chance of being infected. So the odds are very much in your favour, since from what you say, it only happened once. Imagine a roullette wheel. If you put a chip on a number, the chances of your chosen number coming up are 1 in 36. Do it enough times and your number will come up. But spin the wheel only once, and the chances are you'll lose your chip.
Good luck.

Well, maybe, but.....Look how many people have sex with an hiv infected person only once and become infected? Once is all it takes, and that is what matters.

Risks
You are completely right, and perhaps I didn't make myself clear. Yes, the risk each time is small, but this does not mean you shuld not be aware of it. Using condoms is vital in every single case. Many people do become infected the first time. All I was trying to do was to put the worrier's mind at some ease about the single encounter he had.
