I was wondering if I ended my birthcontrol pack and was suppose to start on my new pack and didnt' take the pills the first week is it possible to become pregnant because I have read many different answers to this question like it is possible b/c an egg can be released in 24 hrs but then I read that it isn't possible b/c it may take a while for a person to ovulate til after like the first month of not taking the birthcontrol? So which is it? B/c I was hoping to get pregnant within my first week of not taking the birthcontrol....But if I start taking the birthcontrol pill again after that week is it possible I can still be pregnant b/c I know that it takes a few days for the fertilized egg to stick to the linging and if I do get pregnant during that week will it hurt my chance of becoming pregnant? I know this is all confusing but it is also confusing for me to b/c I need to make a very important decision to have a baby & I realy need to know all this info...So plz reply if u are a 100% sure u know the answers to my questions...

There is no 100% sure answer. Everyone is different. There is no scientific yes or no answer to your question.

Hey qtlilasianchick, how are you doing?

Pregnancy can happen any time after you stop taking the pill. To plan a pregnancy, stop taking the pill and use another method until your periods become regular. Normal menstrual cycles usually return in a few months.

The pill works best if taken at about the same time every day. Pregnancy can happen if

* pills are started too late in the cycle

* two or more pills are missed in a row

* pills are taken in the wrong order

usually, these hormones prevent the ovaries from releasing an egg (ovulation). They also thicken the cervical mucus, which would prevent sperm from joining with an egg.

best wishes,
