It could be normal. I guess it would depend on lots of different circumstances. I know that on my last day of my period I usually get a brown discharge. Sometimes I have occasional spotting with a little bit of brown discharge between periods. If it just goes away I wouldn't worry about it-- if it keeps up I would check with a Dr.

hello, im supposed to get my period today and for the last 4 or 5 days ive been getting brownish discharge. i dont know what it is because i have never had such a problem. i am on birth control and have been on it for some years now and this has NEVER happened to me. does anyone know what it could be..please let me know
