Q: Pregnant On the Pill???

My girlfriend started taking the pill a few months ago, and we started having sex shortly thereafter. She is very worried now, which makes me worried also, but she's affraid to talk to anyone, so I will. She has lost her sex drive, is having mood swings, and seems to be gaining weight, especially around her stomach, she is affraid that she might be pregnant somehow. She still gets her period every month, but I know that sometimes you can be pregnant and still get your period. So I was just wondering what you all think? Could she be pregnant? And if so how can you tell if you're pregnant while on the pill, would any tests be accurate while on it?

I can't say for sure, but I would bet the symptoms are just her body getting used to the bc pills. A lot of girls have those problems, especially the the weight gain. Good luck, and if she can't quit worrying, she could always take a test to be sure.

Go take a test.. Im 21 weeks.. I got pregnant on the pill.. I took alot of pregnancy test but were negative.. I took a blood test and it was positive.. If she thinks that she pregnant she should stop taking the pill until she is for sure and tell her doctor.

It doesn't hurt to take a test.. But those symptoms are not unusual for people going on the pill.

Those symptoms are all very common for a girl who recently started taking the pill. It sounds to me like she's on a pill that's just not right for her. You can always take a pregnancy test to put both of your minds at ease, but I suggest taking her to the doctor as well and see about switching to another brand of pill that might not have as bad of side effects.

Nothin to Really Worry About
I started taking the pill a few months ago and I still have mood swings, and I have gained weight. I freaked out to when it happened because I didnt know what to think. All in all I was just fine, their just a few side effects to the pill the first few months you are taking it.
