Mystery Lung Disorder

Since christmas I have had a sore throat almost constantly, swollen glands, a bronchial cough, sometimes dry sometimes not, and additionally a conjunctivitus type itch and rash on my eyes, which even when that cleared up, like a stain is still on my eyelids.

I went to the doctor, who said my chest sounded awful. He sent me for a chest x-ray (negative/normal) and blood work, checking for lupus, i.E.Immune disorders, all came back normal

i am and I repeat never sick. I haven't had a sore throat in 30 years.

Any suggestions/ideas?

Hey wendynj924, how are you doing?

Here is a list of disease and/or disorders associated with sore throat symptoms:

early syphilis: first stage: ulcer on penis or genitalia. Second stage: wide spread varying body rash, mouth ulcers, severe headache, arthritic pains, sore throat, eye disorders.

Late syphilis (tabes dorsalis): crises (pain and spasms) in the throat and/or stomach, "lightning" pain occuring episodically all over the body, loss of balance when eyes are closed.

German measles: rash (light rose in color) all over the body, swollen lymph nodes under jaw and neck. In adults, lassitude, slight headache, joint stiffness.

Leukemia: general bleeding from gums, nose, under skin (small red-purplish spots). Deep fatigue, malaise, pain in the joints, severe anemia with great pallor. Children (acute form): sore throat, bruised body appearance, rapid heartbeat. Adults (chronic form): characteristic enlarged lymph nodes, night sweats, difficulty breathing, weight loss.

Cancer of the tongue (back of the tongue cancer): pain in throat and in the ear.

Cancer of the pharynx (throat): pain or difficulty eating or swallowing, general discomfort in throat, difficulty opening mouth or coughing, earache. Pain in throat may radiate to side of face, lymph nodes of neck may swell, nosebleeds.

Cancer of the larynx: most common, major and early symptoms asr horseness, difficulty breathing and swallowing, bad breath, sticky mucus in throat requiring constant clearing, sore throat, and pain in the ear.
