Treating Cholesterol

Tow table spoons of honey and three teaspoon of cinnamon powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water,if given to a cholesterol patient it reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within two hours.

Herbs is really good for health. I believe in the treatment of herbs as it has no side effect as medicines.

Lower Cholesterol Naturally
Posted: 06-02-05 05:36am

Hello all

there are many natural alternatives/supplements that can help to lower cholesterol. Some of these are reportedly more effective in lowering cholesterol than prescription medications, without the dangerous side effects

these include: guggul, policosanol, red yeast rice, pantethine etc. In addition there are at least another 30 natural supplements that can help to lower cholesterol. Hope that helps.

All the best

Aged Garlic to Lower Cholesterol!
Posted: 10-03-05 03:01am

Did you know that one of the most important health benefits of garlic is
lowering cholesterol!?
Aged garlic is the extract of fresh, whole garlic aged in alcohol. It contains all of the natural goodness from whole fresh garlic, and if administered correctly, without the unpleasant aftertaste or odor!

I have some pages that sell aged garlic:

Email me and I will give you all some more information...Love the fact that I am not going to need any precscriptions for lowering my cl.

If you would like an actual medicine to reduce triglicerides, you could take omacor which is pharmacutical grade omega acids.

Look up the word omacor on line, it is ccovered by most insurances and there is no nasty fish flavor at all plus it is a real true medicine only availible from the pharmacy with a prescription from a real md/do (doctors not ph.D. Or self proclaimed health gurus)

Liver And Cholesterol
Posted: 07-16-06 21:42pm

Has anyone ever considered the link between high cholesterol and the liver? The liver makes the good cholesterol that should keep the bad in check. So if you are eating a good diet and have high triglycerides, in my opinion maybe you should look into your liver function.

A good site is edit

There are things that can be used to supplement an already healthy diet to lower cholesterol and keep your body in balance. Try different vitamins as well as staying away from foods full of trans fat and hydrogenated oils (peanut butter being a favorite)

I have to apologize for my typo on the web address in my last post. The right one is edit. I do agree with the fact that trans fat is horrible for us, but the use of it for any time at all is also hard on the liver, which makes the good cholesterol. I know people who eat the best diets and still have troubles with bad cholesterol. That is because of the damage it has done to the liver. Take care of your liver and it will take care of you.

I guess it isn't my typo. The web address is in all small letters. This forum won't let me take the capitol letters out. Oh well.

High Colesterol
Posted: 12-09-06 14:46pm

I had high cholesterol and especially high triglycerides and high bp after my by-pass surgery and my cardio md didn’t' t want to put me on drugs; but try diet and exercise. Especially eliminate sweets, trans fats and refined carbs. I called a friend of mine, a research chemist at e.I.Lilly for his help. He connected me with Dr.Zhu in china, who told me what to do and he also helped me bring my bp into normal range and my Dr. Calls
my cholesterol numbers “beautiful”. I now have my hdl above the scale. I have kept a log on this and will email you with a copy if you want.

I've posted this on a couple other forums, but it's important info. I apologize in advance if you've already seen this. Not trying to spam, just trying to get important info out to the public.

Here's the thing most people do not know. High cholesterol is not related to heart disease. About 50% of people dying from heart disease have "normal" levels of cholesterol. What you need to be concerned about are your homocysteine levels. You can get some good info at http://www.Homocysteine.Net/. But here's an analogy. Imagine your cholesterol is actually a yellow balloon. And let's say you take this balloon and rub it on your head to create static electricity. You may have done this as a kid. Then you take the balloon and stick it to the wall. Now imagine doing the same thing with several balloons and putting them around a door. Eventually it would be hard getting through the door. Same thing is happening inside your arteries. Cholesterol cells are getting charged up and sticking to the walls of your arteries until it gets to the point where it's difficult to get through.

And how does your cholesterol get "charged"? It becomes oxidized. A homocysteine test will check your level of oxidized cholesterol. Odds are you've never even heard of homocysteine. You can ask your doctor about this test, but he may not have heard about it either. The main reason is because there is no drug to lower homocysteine levels. However, if you take an anti-oxidant, this will cause the cells to loose their charge and, like our balloon, will fall off the wall.

I actually have a cd of a presentation given by a doctor who talks about this very thing. If you are interested in getting a copy, i'd be happy to send it to you at no charge. It's about 70min long and the presentation covers several aspects of supplementation with anti-oxidants. Send me an email with your address and i'll get it out to you. You'll learn some very interesting things.

Incidently, statin drugs are not worth the risk. I also have a short book written by the same doctor about 80 pages long which goes into the details. It includes several pages of documentated scientific studies comparing the effects of statin drugs and supplementation. I'd be happy to send this out free of charge as well.

High Cholesterol !
Posted: 01-25-07 00:43am

General causes of high cholesterol are diabetes and hypothyroidism, and diet. Being overweight, smoking, not exercising, and eating a diet high in saturated fat and cholesterol can cause high ldl, low hdl, and increased triglycerides.
By changing lifestyle and taking medicines one can treat the high cholesterol. Lifestyle change may include modifying your diet, quitting smoking, losing weight, and exercising.
