STIFF FINGERS IN MORNING AND LATE EVENING
I am a 44 year old woman and at the beginning of August I woke up with a stiff couple of fingers on my right hand, from then on every morning both hands all fingers are stiff - same thing happens when I relax in the evening - can also get tingling in hands like pins and needles. I have been for two blood tests, and now awaiting a nerve conductiont test. I have no idea what it is, and reading the posts above it seems very confusing as to what the cause can be. If any one knows what the cause can be I would love to know.

Stiff Fingers in morning!
I have the same as a lot of people on here with stiff fingers, but I am recovering from a broken ankle and have starting taking Glucosamine, Cod Liver oil, Turmeric and Arnica Gel. I have never had stiff fingers in my life apart from now, does anyone think there is a link to these tablets and gel?

Stiffness in hands
I have similar problems to above. It started with my right little finger being stiff in the morning, and then within a couple of weeks fingers on both hands were stiff, the right hand being worse. My little finger is still worse and when I try to move it myself it jerks. So long as I dont try to make a fist I'm not in any pain though. I do a lot of computer work and wonder if it is IT related, mouse clicking etc. I've always taken cod liver oil, and multi vits.

Stiff fingers
I am 49 and have also started developing stiffness in fingers of both hands. The comments here are familiar-clawlike/swollen and painful to move. Its always first thing in the morning but I find that rinsing my hands in cold (or sometimes hot) water helps. I think I have good circulation. Also I find that I often end up with 'dead limbs' in the night from having left my arms under my body etc. My father had the same thing for ages but there was never any medical diagnosis.

I didn't read all the answers but what I did read didn't mention braces on the hands at night. I have arthritis in both my hands and the base of my thumb. I just got a cortisone shot in the base of my thumb (both hands). One hand is wonderful. The other one is just a dull ache all the time with weakness in the hand. I read where someone said they took potasium. You shouldn't do that. I was told it could damage the heart. You should eat banannas, tomatoes, canaloupe, baked potatoe, apples.....
Check the computer for a list of foods. I try to eat a bananna a day. That should help with the cramping.

vitamin D dysregulation might be the cause
I have the same problem and the problem got worse when I started various vitamins. I suspect that we all have L-form bacteria and that if every single person here did a vitamin D test it would show up low. But that does not mean it is low, it means that you have bacteria that are altering your 25OH vitamin D to 125 Di Hydroxy vit. D. This causes hypervitaminosis that can cause these kinds of problems. I think this is all TH1 inflammatory disease from some unknown bacteria.
