Q: Is It Possible That My Girlfriend Can Be Pregnant?

The morning after me and my girlfriend had sex she started her period. She then continually had her period for the next couple of days. We want to take a pregnancy test and it has been almost three weeks and we don't know if we should wait longer to make sure we get the correct results. Normally, I know a couple would wait to see if she gets her next period after the one she had, but she is irregular and has it only about every three months. Is it still possible for her to become pregnant and when can we take a pregnancy test that will have the absolute results?

Yes, it's poosible to get pregnant even though she has irregular periods, so I suggest you use condoms if you don't want parental responsibilities.

If she got her period the day after you had sex there is virtually no chance of being pregnant.

Pregnancy occurs when en egg is fertilised by a sperm.
When an egg is released itis called ovulation. Typically ovulation occurs approximately 14 days *before* the period begins.
The egg is only viable for around 36 hours after ovulation.
So to get her period the next day, ovulation is likely to have been around 14 days ago in which case the egg was long gone!
