my wife has a lump in the middle of her back on the spinal column it is in the area of the bra strap, she states it is not painful but it has been there for sometime, it also moves about slightly, but we are talking millimeters, any idea's

Sounds like you a primary physician should take a look at this lump and determine if it needs to be seen by some kind of specialist.

I have the exact same thing! A lump half way down my spine. Not painful but has been there for many years. Just started getting concerned about it recently. It is about an inch and a half wide and long. Please let me know if you find out what it is and how to treat it.

I had exactly the same thing as colinj's wife - a lump in the bra strap area for many years!
I asked my cancer consultant to look at it & she said it was a sebacious cyst (harmless) where a sweat gland (pore) has got 'clogged' up.
She said we could squeeze it out - so my husband tried, & it worked!!
Lots of gunk came out, quite easily, & now it's gone!

I too have a little lump half way down the spine right side of my back. discovered it few weeks earlier does not pain but worried. have to go and check.
