Q: I Heard the Heartbeat!!!

Today I went to the doctors and they checked for a heartbeat. At first they couldn't hear anything and so she made my boyfriend leave the room and did an exam (is what she called it). Basically she had to push the uterus up in order to hear the heartbeat. My boyfriend was pissed because he wanted to hear the heartbeat the first time, and they lady wouldn't allow him in there since she had to do it that way. I'm actually pissed too because thsi is the second time she hasn't let him in there. Anyways, I heard the heartbeat!!! Lol

Congrats! It's awesome hearing the heartbeat! I had my doctors appointment yesterday and fortunately she found the heartbeat as soon as the doppler touched my belly hehe hopefully your boyfriend can hear it next time!

Congrats!!! I had my 2nd apptmnt yesterday and got to hear my baby's heartbeat for the first time as well :d it was really cool...Luckily my bf got to stay in there w/ me...It took the dr several seconds to locate it, but once she did it was loud and clear...My bf was just kept smiling the whole time. She said the heartbeat was in the 160's and sounded perfect...I can't wait til I get to have my ultrasound...But that will be awhile. How far along are u? I am 12 weeks.

Hey don't let them do that again! They can't keep him out. Just put your foot down and say "he stays!"

Ya I think thats dumb, its not like he doesnt know whats down there. I would be pissed too. When I first went to the doctor they had to get mine like that too, I was only 8 weeks I think, and she said I had to be 10-12? But we heard it anyways.

Thats bullcrap, they shouldnt be ever allowed to kick him out, you are allowed anyone you like in there, unless there is something very wrong where he could be in the way. If they ever try to do that again, say something, ask why he needs to step outside, because you would feel more comforted with him beside you extra... Its very discrimitary, if it was me in your siuation I would have asked why and if they tried to tell me he couldnt be in there I would demand he stay if they still refused I would have asked to see someone of higher authority... Its your pregnancy, your privacy, its not up to them...

Secondly that would be an awesome experience, I really hope that he will be there to hear it next time hun

I can't wait till I can hear the heartbeat. I'm like 13 weeks along now. Do you guys just go to your doctors to hear it? Or is it at like an ultrasound place?
