I live in the dorms with two other girls. I can sleep during the day and take naps with them around, no problem. But when it comes time for bed at night, if they're awake I can't fall asleep. I get very anxious because I know I have a problem sleeping and then I work myself up because i'm not sleeping. I thought it was because there were lights on but I bought a sleep mask and that didn't help. I've tried listening to music, reading, meditating, no caffiene, no naps, exercise. I feel like i've tried everything. All I can do is wait up until they go to bed, which can sometimes be at 3 am. I told them what was going on and they are trying to be more aware. But I feel bad telling them they have to go to bed because I said so.

The next step is sleeping pills but I really don't want to resort to that. Any suggestions, please?

Hi, here is something you might want to try....Its an herbal/over the counter sleep helper. I can't remember the exact name, like seratonin, or something close to that. I got it at a drugstore. It helped me tremendously, and when I quit taking it, I didn't really have trouble like most people will after coming off sleeping pills. Just a thought!
