Is it possible to be 5 weeks pregnant and get a regular period? My friend told me she was pregnant and then I found out that she was having her period or at least bleeding pretty heaving, she told me it was called spotting but then again i've also heard that spotting is brown and not as heavy as a period, or is that not always the case and could she really be pregnant. I'm not sure what to believe, I don't see her lying about something like this and I don't know of any reason why she would it just doesn't make sense to me that she would have what seems to be a regualar period while pregnant, I do believer that its actually been as heavy as a period, and she has expierenced cramping pretty badly aswell. What could be going on with her she told me she would make an apt with the doc as soon as she could get it. But could she really be pregnant?

Hi klc,

it isn't possible to tell at this stage if your friend is lying about her pregnancy, as some women do have their period up until 3 - 4 months of pregnancy. If she is indeed pregnant, and she is bleeding heavily with cramping, then she could possibly be miscarrying. Most women who are bleeding and know they are pregnant, would normally go directly to the hospital or doctor for an ultrasound, I do find it to be a little strange that your friend is not taking the situation a little more seriously. As for getting an appointment at the doctor "as soon as she can get it", that is silly, she can go to the hospital, and if she called her doctor and told them she is pregnant and bleeding, i'm sure they would fit her straight in, as this is urgent. I'm not sure what reason a person would have to lie about a pregnancy, but it does happen. All you can do at this stage is keep being a friend, she may in fact be pregnant, and if she is miscarrying she is going to need someone to talk to. I miscarried in may last year and it still hurts when I think about it. My husband was very supportive even though he was hurt also, but I couldn't have got through it without him.

Regards,

suzy

I thought a "dry birth" was when you are actually giving birth, and the baby doesn't have a lot or any amniotic fluid surrounding it??

I know that many women "bleed" throughout there entire pregnancy but what I wanted to know is, can it be as heavy as a period and with the cramping as well and still be a healthy pregnancy?

Is She Lying?
Hey

hey I am 32 weeks pregnant and I didnt even know I was pregnant till I was 13 weeks along this is because I was still getting my period or at least wat I thought was my period... Your freind may be lying but she may be telling the truth the only way to find out is to see physcial proof that she is pregnant if she found out from a doctor they wouldve most likely given her a referral to get an ultrasound done... To find out her dates.. Ask her about this and see how or wat her reaction is...
