Hello everyone.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy 15 months ago and its been hard. I am ss yrs old female and I live in australia I am taking epilim and I take 1200mg of that morning and night I also am on keppra and I am taking 750mg of that morning and night.

I have had mri, ct scans and sleep deprived eeg and nothing showed up I have also had eeg that showed stress on my brain in certain areas. Thr drs think I possibly have temporal lobe epilepsy and I dont know what to do.

I have not been able to work because I am a mess. With emotions and I have all different types of seizures. From mostly partials to waking up in the middle of the night because I have wet myself and I feel discusted because I am 22 and I shouldnt be doing that at my age.

I am trying to get on a pension here in australia I am worried always paranoid I know it is just my tablets.

I phase out alot and forget things alot and ppl around me tell me that these things happen to me alot more then I realise. I have a really great gp and he has helped me get better health wise but I wish I just had this epilepsy thing under control more so I could get my life back.

My questions to you are have you been told you are epileptic and still have no sign of abnormalities within your brain like me.

And is it true that when an eeg is carried out that you may not have spikes if you are medicated.

The first neurologist I saw said that there was nothing epileptic he could see there and told me to seek help else where like at a psychologist.

The second neurologist said there is no way you can tell if some ppl are or arent its just fact. And he seemed to think that I was but my tests were negative.

I have my family worried about me and I just keep telling them that I am ok they never understand this and its so hard on them too and I realise that.

I just hope that anyof you out there that come into this room can help me give me some insight.

Thankyou sami

Sami, so sorry this other neuro has not been help to you! I sure know the next one can get you better answers!

Keppra is a med that can sure give mood swing trouble. Some kids do better with that if they take vitamin b 6, I am not sure if it helps adults but you can ask the neuro....

I sure hope you can get some control and feel better. It is really tough. Is there a way to work just a few hours at something to keep up with something?

Hang in there. Hoping yuo get better help soon!
