It's my first day taking birth control pills and I noticed that there are only 28 pills in a pack....

I was wondering if I have to take 28 pills for 28 days and stop taking them for the next 2 or 3 days (the 29th, 30th, & 31st) ...Then start over again with a fresh pack of bc?

...Or just keep on taking them everyday with no break? :|

Take all of them and then start a new pack. The last seven are your inactive pills (these are usually a different color than the active pills...Its ok if you skip one of these because they are only sugar pills however do not skip your active pills). You should get your period 3-5 days after taking your last *active* pill. Dont be worried if you do not get your period the day you start your inactive pills...It'll take a while.

*edit* inactive to active

Actually you should get your period during the week of your "inactive" pills. It should start a few days after you begin these pills, not after you're finished taking them. Depending on how long your period is going to last, you may still have a very light flow on sunday, but still start a new pack anyways.

Hope that helps!

A woman's average cycle is 28 days.. 4 weeks.. Not one month (i.E. 30 or 31 days). Birth control does not match up to the month, but to the 28 day cycle so you do not want to skip any days in between packs.
Although like others mentioned, your last 7 days of the 28 days are really just reminder pills (i.E. Sugar pills) and you don't have to take them.
