I am no Dr., my advice to you is to go see a Dr., it could be scar tissue, their could be hardening in the walls or lining you might need a d&c, it is not a bad thing, it will help you, and it might be something else but you should get checked out. I feel that if this is all your relationship is about then it does not sound like it is a very good relationship, especially if he is hurting you.

If your hyst was 15 years ago it is unlikely to have any effect on current penetration.
My guess is that if you had your hyst that long ago that you are likely to be near menopause age.
Menopause is a common factor in difficulty in penetration.
See your doctor as they may prescribe hrt or oestrogen based creams to help with this issue!

Hello there! Kia, I am not trying to hammer you or anything, but once you have a complete hysterectomy, you will automatically go into menopause, I know this for a fact.

Actually sandy no you won't.
I had my hysterectomy last year. Not all total hysterectomies include a double oophrectomy as well. With out the oophrectomy you will still have your ovaries. Many women keep their ovaries so they do not need hrt.
I am not menopausal and neither are many of the ladies who frequent the same hysterectomy support site as myself.
A total hysterectomy means they remove the cervix as well as the uterus. I retained my cervix so my hysterectomy was a sub total hysterectomy.
You can have an oophrectomy of one or both ovaries and not have a hysterectomy.

Everyone is right, you need to see your doctor. It may be lesions or cysts if you still have your ovaries. There is no reason that a woman should have to participate in uncomfortable sex. Try different positions so that penetration isn't as deep( if you haven't already). Do you smoke? This dries out your natural lubrication. Do you douche? This is a terrible thing to do for your vaginal walls. No matter, you need a pelvic exam and an answer from a doctor.

Hi mia, I know someone who had similar symptoms as you describe and it turned out that years after her hysto her bladder fell a bit and was pushing on her vaginal wall causing pain and bleeding during inetercourse. I have also found out since my hysto 11 weeks ago that this is not a normal occurance for every woman who has a hysto that it all depends on how strong your bladder is to begin with. But it may be worth checking out anyway. :d

correct-- I thought mine was a partial til I research it,. They took cervix and uterus called total hysterectomy, and remooved one tube---leaving both of my ovaries, and 1 tube.

I too have had a total hysterectomy about 10 years ago. In my state naturopathic physicians are liscensed just like m.D.'s.
I had no sex life and gained a lot of weight - where I was never over weight before. My doctor put me on natural progesterone, which if you can not find a doctor to prescribe it ( for most m.D.'s are ignorant to it's benefits.) it can also be purchased in any health food store as a cream. Find john lee m.D. Site and read about it. It is wonderful stuff. Also I used tiny amounts of testosterone. My doctor also said once one is menopausal either from normal aging or surgical menopause. It is helpful to use testosterone because the utereus still produces this hormone in tiny amounts which help women to have a sex drive after menopause.
