Very Important Question Posted: 02-16-05 07:22am
Hi everyone, I am new here. I had
trouble figuring out how to post a new
topic....Hope I can continue to post....
Anyway, I have had sle for over 20 years.
I have a problem with the path lab lately
that has been doing my bloodwork. On
more than one occasion they have
mislabeled the tubes or dropped them..
Yet this time, I saw the phlebotomist
label my name. But what is of more
concern is the results of the bloodwork.
My doctor likes to use a lab in
california, but my insurance will not pay
for that anymore.
I just got a partial report of my latest
bloodwork. I have always had a very high
sed rate, and I am also positive for the
anticentromere antibody. A very high
positive. The ana is pending...Although
always positive I don't know the numbers
this time.
The partial report showed everything to be
normal??? Except my c3 and c4 is low.
My sed rate is normal, although I am in
extreme pain. The anticentromere is
suddenly negative???? Can that antibody
disappear? I am wondering if my doctor
should retest. I know this sounds
odd..But to look at this bloodwork you
would be sure it was not me. Not that I
would not be perfectly happy if the
anticentromere antibody just disappeared,
but I am sure you all agree, that the
accuracy of our tests is very important.
The only thing different is that I was on
antibiotics at the time of these latest
tests, and I have never heard of an
antibiotic interfering with results.
Can anyone tell me if the anticentromere
antibody can just go away??
I am very confused, and I appreciate any
and all responses to this question.
In alot of pain, and confused...
Thanks so much..
