Ok, I have been on ortho-tri-cyclen lo for two years now, with little problems. This month though I had missed three pills, and I had bleeding a week before my expected period. At first I thought it was breakthrough, but it was very heavy and lasted the entire week. I made the mistake and stopped taking the pill. Now it is currently the week I would normally have my period but now there is nothing. So now I am very confused. Was last week my period just early and I should have started a new pack last sunday, or was that breakthrough bleeding and my period has not come and I should still start the new pack on sunday. Thank you for any help.

Sounds like you just had your period early because of missing those pills.. I've had that happen before. Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Just start your next pack as usual.

Another Quick ?
Thanks for responding....I stopped taking my pills and I missed the third week of my pills and I wasnt sure if I should start a new pack that sunday and skip my placebo pills or continue with the old pack. So it is now the week that my period was suppose to come and I havent started a new pack my boyfreind said I should wait until my next period to start my new pack. Well I have had unprotected sex last week and this week is it possible I could get pregnant?

Since you stopped your pills it is possible for you to get pregnant, although it's hard to say what that chance is.. What week of the pills were you in when you stopped taking the pill? Chances are with your period that you probably won't get it because of the bleeding the other week (so in effect you had your period early). At this point you have two choices.. Wait until you get your period next month and use protection in the mean-time before you start the pill again, or start using the pill again when you normally would have started the new pack. Make sure you use protection for the next month to be sure since you were off the pill for awhile. Then if your period doesn't come on time next month, try taking a pregnancy test to make sure nothing happened while you were off the pill.
