Ok first off, 20 to 30 years ago depression wasn't a big thing. Now of days the fcc, fda, government are putting stuff in our foods to make us depressed so they will make money on antidepressant drugs. Makes sense it is all about the money. They dont care about your health in anyway. There are chemicals in foods and other prescription that make you depressed and give you side effects. The more alcohol and drugs you take will do the same thing. Alcohol isn't the answer it is a short-term solution. I wish the population would see this. There are too many alcoholics in the world we spent 6.5 billion dollars last year on alcohol!! Alcohol isn't the answer the only reason people drink is to be cool or they are depressed. Just like cigarettes you want to be cool or your depressed or pissed off. You didn't wake up one morning and say i'm going to start smoking or next year im going to start smoking. So if you don't drink or do drugs or smoke cigarettes more power to you. But help your friends out too!!

food vs depression
I have a friend who is using food along with her antidepressant. She also, of course takes vitamins and minerals, and Sam-e. What she needs is a menu, or a diet. IE: breakfast - eat 2 eggs with onion & garlic. A slice of melon, and a glass of orange juice. Lunch,Plain yogurt, with fresh blueberries & bananas a piece of chicken and green tea.
Dinner; Spinach salad with sunflower seeds and a serving of salmon.
You get the idea. Is there someplace which has a diet with all of the foods which help balance the body chemistry? I would pay.
