I have been tested and found have an alergic response to cobalt and chromium. Are there revision options for this condition. I am scheduled to have another prosthesis installed soon and was told that the same type will be reinstalled due to lack of a revision for this condition.

knee prosthesis metal allergy
I also found out, after 3 years of pain from titanium/cobalt knee replacements, that I am allergic to cobalt and manganese (another component in prostheses). In January, I had my 3rd knee replacement and my doctor put in Oxinium knee. So far so good, and I have 4th surgery scheduled for May. I wish my original surgeon had asked me about metal allergies. I might have remembered certain jewelry I can't wear, but had never been tested. The test was simple and had immediate results. I could have been spared alot of pain and suffering.
