Yeah, you take the one hour test which is drinking that super sugary orange drink..The drink isnt too bad though..And you wait an hour, they take a bloodtest...The normal level is 139, thats what they told me..And my level was 154 (i knew I shouldnt have been eating too much sugary stuff)...And anyways if you fail that one hour test, you gotta go back and take a 3 hr one..You have to drink that orangey drink again, once an hour..And every hour they take a bloodtest..So I thought that meant 3 bloodtests total, but then someone told me they take 4? And if I fail this one then I have gestational diabetes and they said i'll have to take insulin =( idk im sooo scared..They really are rough when they give me bloodtests..I almost fainted once..

I hope you pass yours, good luck!!

That doesn't sound too awfully bad, as long as you don't have to go the whole time without peeing.

good luck with your 3 hour test! :)

Omg i'm so hungry so much now that not being able to eat anything would be almost as bad as not being able to pee.

I always eat "dinner" after 10, well we go to chevron everynight and get chips, candy, donuts, and cookies, real good dinner, huh?

So should I not eat sweets before I go, or what?

I have no idea actually, if eating sweets before you go will make a difference or not..I know the day I took the 1 hr test, I had a cookie right before I went, lol..

oh man, I hated that test! I failed it to, so I had to go back and do the 1 hour one, and the second time they took my blood I threw up the stuff, and had to come back the next week, and finally did it and passed. It was so frusterating! I hope it all goes well for you.

I don't know if you saw my other post, but I asked if you used to go to Bolt.Com I go on the pregnancy boards there I thought for sure I saw your pictures before. But there were lots more.

Also, I didn't think you were allowed to eat anything before you got the test done?

don't worry! It's just this really sweet orange drink you drink. The purpose of the test is to test for gestational diabetes, something you can get with pregnancy. I have mine in 2 weeks. It's standard around 24-28 weeks, all preggo's get it.

Rachrach...That sucks you have to fast after 10pm. My Dr. Office said since a year ago things changed and you don't have to "fast". Hmmm....Some offices are different. I can eat before I go and everything!

i was allowed to eat too, but nothing too sweet. And I forgot and drank oj and I was sooo scared, but it was fine. It's like that with pediatricians too. Some say baby can't do this or that, and others say it's fine. It's so confusing. Thank you god for our intuition. I usually just do what I 'feel' is best unless there's some proof otherwise (as far as the girls are concerned).

It all depends on your system I had to take 3 of them! Only 2 with the drink though! Just follow all the rules and the eating reccommendations for before hand
