Help!!
Posted: 02-01-05 21:57pm

Ok so my bipolar boyfriend broke up with me because he said that he couldnt handle his head. We are so in love and I know he just did it because he doesnt want me to get hurt? Well he told me that he needs to get himself sorted out and to fix himself. So I said do what you need to I am here if you need anything an I love you. Well the other day he told me that I should just give up on him and that I do not deserve to be treated like this!! I told him that I love him and when I fell in love with him I fell in love with every aspect of him, I am here for him no matter what and something like this is not going to turn me around and run from him. He is in his depressive state, but he wont let me help what do I do???! We love each other so much but it is killing me that he doesnt want me anywhere or part of anything woth him right now. Is this normal?? Please help

I Am In the Same Situation
Posted: 12-14-05 18:26pm

I feel this is the exact situation that I am in right know. I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and 2 months ago he found out he was bipolar and broke up with me. I know he loves me dearly. He calls me every day and still talks about future plans. But when I try to tell him I want to be with him, he shuts off and says that he does not want a comitment. I think that your boyfriend, like mine is confused with the illness and need time to cope with it. Stick with him but don't lose yourself in the process. You'll now when enough is enough, when you cant wait any longer. Everything will work out he way it should. At lest thats what iam telling my self!
Have hope but also take care of yourself!

He may just be griefing and that part of depression... Is he newly or recently diagnosed as bipolar. Offen newly diagnosed bipolar fine it hard to deal with the label of " I have a mental illness". Just be there for him and give him support. Tell him he is not along he more then welcome to send me message and talk to me.
