Well, today I went to the gyno and i, indeed, had a tampon twisted way up in me! It was actually really surprising, but I am so incredibly glad that I went today, rather than later. I think I was already showing early signs of tss, as I had had the tampon in me for over 96 hours! The moral of the story... Don't get drunk, forget to take out your tampon, and then have sex! It's not worth the agony and the possibility of getting tss! I've definitely learned a lesson here... Thanks y'all for all your help!

"way up inside" the vagina is only upto 4inches long and there is nowhere for it to go.
No matter how far you tried to push a tampon in you would be able to feel it with your fingers

Wow, yeah that is no good. I couldnt imagine having sex with a tampon in. Ouch! I am glad that you are okay though.

I know a girl who's mom this happened to and she did develop tss. She forgot she had a tampon in and put another in.
I just don't see how someone could forget they put a tampon in.. But with some people, who knows.

4 inches...? Because ummm, not to get personal, but most penises are larger and can go umm all the way in.

I donno, but if you think about it a tampon is how long...A couple or a few inches I donno never measured one lol. If it went in you it cant go all that far cause I mean you dont go on forever, I donno it just seems a little....Unbelieveable to me...Just my opinion.

Yes most penises are more than 4 inches. The average is 5.5 inches.
When you get aroused the vagina kinda swells to accomdate I mean come on ladies you can get a baby out but I assure you if you go to the bathroom right now and measure it will be significantly smaller.

Let's assume the orignal poster didn't stay aroused for the whole couple of days...

Iud's and ius's are a different matter entirely, firstly they are inserted through the cervix and into the uterus and secondly you are supposed to be able to feel the very fine lines from it to know that it is still in place.
