Q: Pregnant And Diagnosed With Skin Type Lupus

Right before I found out I was pregnant, I found out I have a very minor case of the skin type lupus. My doctor said I didn't have to worry about the lupus because its so minor but I need to come back in three months for more blood work. This was in sept. About a week later I found out I was pregnant and my insurance dropped me because of it. I haven;t been to a dermotologist since and I was wondering if its something I really need to worry about. Mt gyno knows a have it and is watching me closely so is it nesessary for me to go to the dermotologist?

Do you have severe skin (butterfly, redness) on your face? I think you should do bunch of blood test that your rheumatologist recomended. Ana test to be one of them, white blood cell, red blood cell, urine test, etc....I hope your obgyn know a lot about lupus or else you might have complication during your pregnancy/delivery. Update your progress status for us. You are lucky to have minor lupus;whereas other people are even worser than you are.

I think you really need to take action on this. Lupus is a very severe auto immune problem. I know several people with lupus and they do have some very successful treatments. If you really care about your health you should do something about it.
