Tingle Foots
Hello. I believe that it could be pressure on a nerve. I have tingle foot.
(it only happens in one foot). I had major problems with the sciatic nerve due to disc pressure in lower spine. The pain extended down the leg to the foot. The pain was very intense. I had 2 back surgeries. The loss of feeling in my calve and partially the foot, (with tingling), was caused by nerve damage the doctors said.
Nerve troubles can extend and skip places along the way! It's kind of weird to think that something at a distance can affect another area, such as the possibilty of nerve pressure around the disks in the lower spine may be affecting your foot.

I'm sure that there are several other reasons for the tingling sensations,
raynauds? Hope this helps, or others post their experiences to help you.

Hi, thanks everso for your reply, very helpful. I do suffer from raynauds but have only experienced it in my hand. However, I don't have any discolouration with my feet or indeed pain just this strange sensation. I do currently have a lower back problem, having arrived on saturday but had the tingling before with no back pain and indeed over the last two weeks with no back pain. Can you have pressure on the never hence the tingling without experiencing back pain?!?!

It's just that you want to ignore it and then you read symptons etc. Etc. And your mind runs away with you!!

Your words are comforting so thanks for the time you took to respond.

Regards

Tingles
It could still be nerve pressure. My back doesnt hurt but the disk pressure affects my leg in different areas. The problem may still be nerve pressure. It could be along the sciatic nerve at any point.
Are you diabetic? You claim you do have raynauds too.
Maybe it's worth getting it checked out. It can't hurt!

Do you have diabetes? If so, it could be periperal neuropathy.

I'm a 48 year old mom. I started feeling tingling in my pointer finger. I went to a neurologist who did a emg and found no nerve damage. After that I started feeling tingling on my toes and around my feet. I went back for another emg of legs and feet, and found no nerve damage. Since then I sometimes feel like something is crawling on my scalp and sometimes my buttocks and thigh. I am really freaking out now and have become obsessed with these health web sights, looking up all kinds of scary stuff. I've become a big bundle of nerves and now I don't know if its nerves of something else. Anyone out there ever experience anything like this. Please reply.
Thanks. Worried

Foot tingling.
Well, I am a 72 year old woman...severe tingling in both my feet, somewhat like walking on nettles. The foot doctor discovered a Vitamin D/calcium deficiency presurgery and treated me with 5000 u. Vitamin D3 and Juven to prepare me for surgery. Voila! The tingling stopped in 1-2 weeks and it did not get blamed on my Type !! diabetes which is perfectly controlled. Glad I kept it to myself or the knee-jerk reaction would have been Neuropathy!

allergies. that is my leading theory. I had hurt my neck really bad when I was 12 and that is a terribly long story I will spare you. We went everywhere to figure out why my neck just flipped out one day. A doctor related it to my allergies, which are terrible. As the years past the neck grew worse. I began to to question why removing my tonsils and putting tubes in my ears was the solution to my neck problem. Fast forward 23 years. Back and neck were awful. Doctors were really concerned when they saw an MRI of my neck. A partially collapsed disk (this is not what you have, my case was just unique) and the disk seemed to have been collapsed for a very long time. Had an artificial disk put in my neck and back. Took a year to recover felt great. Things started to get odd around April. I found a direct correlation between my neck and my allergies. I finally saw how the two were connected. Think of how your ears drain. Press on that and rotate your neck. Just amazing relief. However, sometimes when I do this my fingers get numb and things get odd. This happens when my allergies are at their worst and / or playing too much XBOX. I have a terrible chair and my mussels get very tense. Relaxing my neck, stretching, Advil, and Claritin (pressing on that part next to the ears too) I am as right as rain. To think only 2 years ago that took a considerable amount of oxycodone and I never felt that good, just not as bad.

Basically, muscles spas, nerves get confused, allergies inflames the area, brain doesn't know what to make of it. If you find yourself beating your head against the wall trying to figure this out, all the doctor can recommend is physical therapy or chiropractor, those are never terrible options, but if there was something seriously wrong with you the MRI would show it trust me. Check out your allergies, it has been the worst of the worst allergy season, people never having allergies before are getting hit as well. Hang in there. Track me down if you want me to explain this better.

I know this started out on 01/30/05 but have any of you been tested for diabetes as there is such a thing called diabetic neuropathy. It could also be stress. I am no dr but it never hurts to get a second or third opinion.
Even sometimes a chiropractor can help and acupuncture, talk to your primary care provider about your options.
Good luck!
Sincerely!
Sandy

Tingles In Feet
I am currently being treated for secondary liver cancer - I'm over the worst, and the prognosis is great - but I've been prescribed a fierce drug called oxiplatin. Normal side effects are tingling in the feet, fingertips, tongue and throat, especially when in contact with cool or cold conditions. It is a neurological condition, and will probably dissipate or disappear once I finish with the drug. But maybe someone could help me with something I've noticed this morning. I seem to be getting what I can only define as 'cramps' in my feet. There is no pain. I can't really find a suitable analogy for description purposes - it's almost as if someone is trying to tug off your stockings or socks. It's almost like your ankles and feet have taken on a life of their own, and occasionally 'breathe in'! It's weird. And to make matters worse, I can provoke this occurrence by nodding my head forward. It doesn't happen if I rotate my head left or right, nor lean my head backwards! It only happens on nodding forward.

Anyone got any answers, please?

Re: Tingles In Feet
I have the same symptoms after having chemo for colon cancer. Did you ever get over it or did you get a diagnosis? Mine seems to be related to calcium build-up in my spine that is pinching on my spinal cord and causing the feet tingle.

Tinglins in Feet
I started getting the tingles and still have them, mostly at night, after starting statin drugs. I no longer take them and they are not as strong now. But, they drive me nuts and actually wake me. I am taking alpha lipoic acid and some vitamins. If anyone has had success with getting rid of these, please let me know. It is not pain, just drives you nuts! Kate,

bettyblue1951,

Have you tried medicines like Lyrica (pregabalin) or Neurontin (gabapentin)? They have been used quite successfully in treating neuropathies.

Good luck.

Tingly feet and finger tips and forward nodd causing wave energy
Jack in Manchester England
Hi, I have the same symptoms from chemo for colorectal cancer. I have the tingling from repeated chemo I suppose. I also have the nodding forward wave of energy that goes to my feet. The Dr. said he never heard of this. Glad I'm not the only one.
Well, I have to live with it for now, finish on "maintenance" chemo and hope it NEVER returns. I'm going to take my B vitamins (for nerve system) and talk to my doctor about it. My feet really get tight and stressed out in sketchers after standing on my job on concrete floors for 6 hours. The tingling does not go away. I wish it did. There is medication but I have not had this conversation with my doctor yet.

Good luck to you.

hi i went to the doctor to about tingling on my skin and balance is off and its only on my right side under breast bone hurts and like a pressure and the skin sensation she said it is called pasesthesia so that is tingling and skin sansation of your skin the medical term for that so we have to find out what is causing it to tingle it could be many things like ms always comes up and then orther things like that # Injury to a nerve such as a neck or back injury may cause numbness in various areas of the body, most commonly along the arms or legs.
# Pressure on the spinal nerves, such as that due to a slipped disk, often present in a type of numbness referred to as sciatica.
# Lack of blood supply to an area in the body - usually due to plaque buildup in the blood vessels, an inflammatory condition or to poor circulation.
# Carpal tunnel syndrome
# Complication from Diabetes, often called diabetic neuropathy
# Migraines
# Multiple sclerosis
# Seizures
# Stroke
# Transient ischemic attack (TIA)
# Underactive thyroid
# Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in the body
# A lack of vitamin B12 or other vitamin
# The side effects of certain medications
# Toxicity in nerves, caused by toxins such as lead, alcohol or tobacco
# A side-effect of radiation therapy
# After-effects of some surgical procedures so this is what it can be stress can do alot to its getting better every day so i'm trying

Remedy of tingling effect
Hi All,I have been suffering from tingling effect in knees/feet/legs since a week.
Strange !! My orthopaedic surgeon had misguided me by giving normal pain killers.
Than I contacted my uncle who is my family doctor,he suggested me that it's because of deficiency of vitamin B12.And asked me to take "neurobian" 10 injections immediately every alternate days.
Believe me I forgot my pain in 2 injections itself and will complete my course of 10 injections soon.
You may also contact your neurologist soon and ask about Neurobian injection(Vitamin B12).

My legs have been numb and tingling for 2 weeks. The doctor keeps blowing it off. Found out my Vitamin D was deficient (tested at a 15, whatever that means). He said it could not possibly cause my problem.
