Does alcohol lower the effictiveness of the pill? My friends and I went out to a party and they were drinking. I wasn't because I am pregnant. My friend and her boyfriend then went and had sex but didn't use a condom because they weren't thinking and they were both drunk. She then later forgot to take her pill for the day. Would that increase her chance for pregnancy or is she okay??

Alcohol won't lower the effectiveness of birth control, it actually just gives you extra estrogen because there's estrogen in alcohol... That's why feelings are expressed more readily when drunk
your friend not taking her pill... There's a possibility of her being pregnant, but not an enormous one. It also depends when in the pack she is, but I wouldn't worry about it.
Advice... Your friend uses a back-up method for a week or so. No big deal really.
