Why would my encephalitis be triggered by menses every month? I get a shingles, herpes, and pyoderma gangrenosum outbreak with herpetic encephalitis evey time I get my menses. Why every month and why all the outbreaks?

Maybe the herpes viruses are living in neurones sensitive to oestrogen, and that acts as their triggering factor. Quite peculiar.

Look at the positive side - unlike most, you're well aware of the triggers of your herpes zoster attacks, and can take prophylactic antiviral drugs to minimise the outbreak.

Bon chance.

Encephalitis
So far we have not found anything that my immune system will act with.
I'm going to have a spinal tap done in march also. It's absolutely horrendous to deal with all three outbreaks, and everything else like the pain, encephalitis, and gi problems. My concern is that this has been happening for years and the damage that has been done to my vital organs.
