Hi. I am 22 years old and have a lump in the right side of my neck, just above my collar bone for a while now. I never went to the doc about it because my mom seemed to think it was nothing, but recently i've noticed it more. It is definitely still there and maybe a tiny bit bigger. I feel tired all the time and am always running a very low fever, but i'm never actually sick. Starting to get worried. Anyone have any idea what this could be???

You should get that check out asap! Never ignore lumps in any part of your body! Get to your docter now! I won't go into what it might be...It may be nothing...But won't it be great to know it is nothing! Your mom is not a doctore...Neither am I for that matter. If you gave your symptoms to your Dr. Office...I am sure they would fit you in very quickly! If not.....Push to get in soon.

Hello
Hello college girl
I would seriously go get that checked out at your drs I am no specialist but from what you have described sounds to me like its your thyroid acting up on you. Ppl whom have a thyroid condition can be efected in 2 different ways 1) is underactive and so they are tired and they find it hard to do every day things like just going for a walk leaves them in sweat.
And 2) could be over active and making things worse. It is checked with a simple blood test to see is\f you have a thyroid problem, but as you are telling me here that there is a lump already that may suggest that you have a goiter. And that is where the thyroid gland swells growing and it is near your collar bone. Also in women with thyroid problems cholesterol being too high is another risk factor ask your mum if any of these things run in the family best to get this sorted now before turns cancerous and needs removal.

Lump
Hello
at the age of 19 yrs, I developed a lump above my collar bone. I went for all the necessary tests and it came back as a form of cancer called hodgekins disease. I had to under go exploratory surgery to see if it had spread into my stomach. Fortunately it did not. It remained in the area of my shoulder and chest. I had to under go 11 weeks of radiation therapy. It was a tough time in my life but I made it through. I have been cancer free for almost 20 yrs. Hodegekins disease is a cancer that effects the lymphatic system. It can be spread throughout your body because it can travel in the blood. Fortunately, it is one of the most treatable forms with the highest survival rate. If you have a lump, are experiencing night sweats, fever, even if you are not. Go to a doctor right away. If your doctor does not think it is serious, go to another. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Two Lumps In Neck But Both Different
:( about three years ago I got this lump on the side of my neck above the collar boan. Drs said it was fatty tissue no big deal. It fits into my 4 fingers when I cup it. So ok it does feal really soft.
But I also had this tiny hard lump on the front of my collar bone, about where it comes to a point and you have these large vains that go up your neck.It is bothersom. The doctor had trouble finding it so they decided to see if it grew.
Well now it think it has grown just a little. Enough to bother me. At times it seems tender and almost hurting. Does anyone have any ideas of what it may be?

Hello,
don't remember exatly what it is called ini my case but have similar lumps on my rib cage close to the colar bone. "if" it is what it seems to be, may not be of concern. It might just be some kind of fatty tissue that accumulates into one spot. And usually will not be looked at unless it is really painful. To my knowledge, if it were a nodule, wether hot or cold, it shouldn't be so hard. You should still be able to deform it when pressing it down against you. But when in doubt get it checked out. Hope this info is usefull.

Regards

Well you know, i'm no doctor by far. I just did research online and through differrent site. You might be able to find info within this site
http://larry.Dedjoker.Googlepages.Com/home
it is my home page and through the research that I have done for myself I have put together a kind of little package of different links of certain well built and simple clear site that you can find information relatively easy. Don't mind the computer stuff though, go right to the cancer link as you go down the page. A bit of my story also in there. If you can't find the info that you need, post again I will try to find something for you. And don't forget that even lumps don't mean that it will test positive for cancer. But I would brace for it just in case. Just don't make it ulcers just expect it in my opinion. You should read the about me within my site. It will give you an idea of where i'm coming from.

Let me know what you need if anything else.

Good luck

I've been looking around and found this site. In case you're interested, you can go and have a look. Don't jump to any conclusions though.Very important. Let the experts make the final decision. But here is the link for your info ::

Thyroidcancer.Com/

main thing be open minded and like I say, doctors are still ahead of everyone else. They have the technology. Demand answers, it's your right it's their obligation !

Good luck

Lump On Collar Bone
Hi, i'm english and live in france. I found a very hard lump on my left collar bone, about 1 month ago, went to Dr. Who thought it was an inflamation due to arthritis (i'm 50yrs), gave me blood test, nothing unusual, but put on anti inflamtories for 2 weeks. Still there, so monday I go for an x-ray and an echogram (don't know what you call it in english, it's similar to what pregnant women have). Dr thinks it is a cyst, hope so. No symptoms, doesn't hurt. But i'm still worried.

Lump On Left Side of Neck
I found a lump above my collar bone on the left side about four years ago and the doctor then said that is was nothing without ever looking it over. Last week I had it looked at and the doctor said it feels like a benign tumor but I am getting sent in to have a yearly check-up done thursday. I do know that I have a low thyroid and neurofribromatosis, which could of formed from something along that but I don't know. I had a cat-scan and/or mri last year but they said nothing about it (i had them done for a large mass on they right side of my neck). If anyone has any suggestions of what it could be it would be great help. The lump itself is in the middle of the collar bone near the sholder and it hurts when it is compressed and it feels like it is about the size of a golfball.

i have the same thing, it's probably a centimeter in diameter. It's relatively soft but it's definitely a mass of some sort and again, it kinda moves from the top of my collar bone, down below it. When I first noticed it I talked to a friend who's an e.M.T. He said it might be a cyst so I went to the doctor today about it, she looked at it for a whole 30 seconds and said it was nothing. Probably just an inflamed lymph node. From the research i've done there aren't any lymph nodes in that location... I don't think my doctor is taking my concern seriously... If someone has any theories as to what it might be I would really appreciate it.
