Pain In My Lower Right Adbominal Area - Though Not Apendix
Posted: 01-29-05 03:38am

Hello, I recently had a very strong pain in my lower right abdominal area, my cousin recently had her appendix taken out so my mother automatically assumed I was in the same position, however I did go to the emergency room and blood tests and a cat scan of my abdominal area showed no sign of appendicitis. The doctors told me that it was perhaps a virus which caused an inflammation and could not do anything else for me and sent me packing. To give a bit of background information on my pain it started on a tuesday night and it gradually became worse every evening until friday when I went to the emergency room. While there I was under heavy amounts of pain killers so the main went away, however recently I have noticed it coming back. Furthermore, I recently noticed that this pain is identical with a pain I had when I was accidently struck in my testicle (yes yes - and no my girlfriend is not beating me lol) so I automatically became rather scared with the various thoughts of what it could be. So I was wondering what you would suggest my next move be because I frankly do not want to go to my mother again and give her more heart ache if it is indeed just a virus. So hope to hear back thanks! By the way I am 19 years old just in case that matters to any of the medicinal purposes.

I guess i'll help him out.......I'm thinking you could have a kidney stone maybe...It would be in your urethra tube....Does it hurt when you urinate??If the stone gets stuck you will have unbearable pain most times in your back....It could be a kidney infection, too.I'd go to your family doctor and describe to him or her exactly what types of pain you are having and where it's located...Er doctors miss alot of things and that's not putting them down,it's just your doc knows your history better.I would most definitely go to the doctor...It's always better to play it safe. You are too young to worry about cancer so just concentrate on a doctors visit...Good luck to you...Keep us posted.

Thank you so much for your reply! I have made an appointment with my family doctor I will update you on that, but as a matter of fact I wanted to say that I do indeed have great back pain so perhaps you are right, though I do not have any pain during urination but I will inform my doctor of all of this. Thanks again!

I was curious what your doctor found? I am having the same problem it's not a constant pain just comes and goes. I thought appendix to but, I dont have all of the symptoms. I went to see my gyno thinking it might be female issues? Nothing found

any information would be helpful..

I ended up having my gall bladder removed. They did an ultrasound and a hidascan. It showed I had sludge in my gb.The hidascan found it.It was only working 15%...Which isn't much,at all.The operation wasn't bad and I just have to watch what I eat and not eat big meals.

The symptoms I was having was like a heart attack.I had stabbing pain in my chest,my neck hurt, sometimes I would feel a heartbeat under my right lower ribcage.I was eating stuff like spicy tuna, popcorn, candy bars and worst of all dill pickle potato chips!!

I had weird feelings going up the back of my neck and into my upper head but I have a disc out in my neck so that might not be a symptom of gb.

Hope they help you out.You are smart to be getting it checked out and playing it safe...Goood luck!! Keep us posted...

2 years ago I got too hot outside-on my rider mower-for a short second I could not see or hear-at all-then I started having this strange-weird feelings go up my back, up my neck, like it (the feeling) would take
and shake me really hard and really fast and then it'd make me so dizzy my body would shake-like from a chill-that all would happen overy so often, for a good year-still don't know why-i know things about me are different since that-what kinda of wierd feeling were you having?
But having extreme lower right side abdominal pain-its a hard tuggin feel-but not constant-it surges-usually when i'm cooking-and I do love to cook. But-and then i'm unable to eat-but feel so hungry-help?
