Q: Chronic Sinus Problems, And Now This!

I've had chronic sinus problems for the past 3 years.

I first started having sinus infections. My ent found that I had a deviated septum and an infected cyst. He corrected both and it seemed to work for about a year and a half, then I started having infections again and have had them since, but this time they were different. The sensation I have now is not the typical pressure and mucous drainage one would get in a normal sinus infections. Instead it feels like somone put glue down my nose and I am constantly draining into my throat.

I've had a 2nd head ct that showed the drainage into my lower maxillary sinuses, but nothing else. My ent says that it is a staph infection that is taking advantage of conditions in my nose. I've been on antibiotics of many sorts and none seem to help. I've also been on a saline nasal rinse at the recomendation of my ent and it does seem to help relieve the symptons somewhat, but only for an hour or so.

Also, and I don't know if this is related, but at the same time I have been having the sinus problems, I also have been having problems with my right eye waking up all dry and puffy, every morning.

Just so you know, i've been tested for allergies 3 times. All have come back as negative. Also, i've had the air in my house tested and it didn't find anything significant.

This is driving me insane! I'm the only one in my household that is having these problems. Any ideas on what is going on with me?

my story was so similar
Hello,
My story with chronic sinusitis was almost the same with yours. Septum surgery, one years' of relief, and then troubles again although there is no allergy...
Luckily, I could beat chronic sinusitis with few simple actions.
1. Increase my water intake
2. stop taking some sinus medications and home remedies.
3. Drinking lots of green smoothie.

You may find it difficult to believe what I say.
I hope you will find the freedom from sinusitis like me.

What do you mean green smoothies?
I'll do anything.

I hear that, I'd love to know what this magical green smoothy is? I find increasing my water intake does help but it only gives you some extra relief (I think it thins the mucus) but never cures it.
