Q: 2 Questions

I heard from someone (i can't remember who or when) that if you have unprotected sex and if the guy cums in you (and if you are fairly close to getting your period) that you will get it sooner than normal. Does anyone know if that is true or not?

The second one is, would smoking effect my fertility? I haven't even been smoking a year and I was just wondering if it would make my chances of getting pregnant lower. If it does, does anyone know why smoking does that? Thanks

The first question - no you won't get your period earlier. The second question - I don't think it has too much of an affect on your fertility. My turn...Why are you smoking if you're trying to get pregnant?

Unprotected sex can';t make your period come any earlier but it can sure make it come a lot later - like 9 or 10 months later.

as far as smoking goes, I don't know why but it can make you a little less less fertile if you're trying to get pregnant and it can also stunt your baby's growth inside you after you get pregnant.

Thanks you guys. I loved krista's answer too. My boyfriend smokes, and he has for a while. We've been careless (like we're not trying excatly to have a child, even though we both want to, we're just not using protection) for about a year and a half, and I still haven't gotten pregnant. So I was just wondering. Plus i'm trying to stop smoking.

I have never heard of the first claim and I seriously doubt that is true.

As to the second, smoking can lower fertility, in particular, male fertility. I would recommend quitting smoking. My sister is 21 and only smoked from 14-17. She has horrible problems with her lungs now just from smoking that short time then. It is truly a nasty habit to pick up.
