Urgent Help Needed!
Posted: 01-27-05 06:00am

Hi, I have been facing heart palpitations, gastric and heartburn for the past month and the medicine has been taking effect successfully.

Recently during one of my exams after raising my head up I felt as if my surroundings were moving, from left to right or up to down until now. I am as a loss of what to do and seek any of you people for help! Having neck aches occasionally, nightmares, and sometimes chest pain as well.

How can I stop this from affecting my life! It's killing me, or you might say...

Hi gabe
it seems for many the gastric, heatburn and heart palpitations are
can be part of the anxiety, panic and stress. I know I sure dealt
with my share for years.

From time to time I noticed a dizziness but im also wondering if it might be due to your meds as that is an extremely common side effect for most antianxiety or antidepressant meds.

The neck and shoulders are also a very common area that
we hold our stress in. I can tell you what I was told and that was
to stretch, use heat and massage. It helps but I agree not having
any of it would be much better.

Have you checked out any of the forums and searched to see if there's any helpful books on anxiety or even the library. If you can afford
counseling ive heard some people have really benefited.

Of course feel free anytime to vent, ask a questions, or just looking
for understanding on these boards. Rani

I've stopped my medicine for quite some while. A week after I got a cough and a drippy nose ( flu ) and I heard there's quite a strong medicine that I took.

But the drowsiness came since monday, which means it has been 5 days, and i've stopped taking the medicine any more as i've completed the course.
Any idea why?

Or any way to solve this stress disorder? I hope counselling will help.. Trying to look for one at the moment...

What was the name of the medication you were taking?
The drowsiness could be a withdrawl of the med, then again
it could be due to the cold or flu your body was fighting.
Or it could be related to the chest pains have you mentioned
this problem to your doctor about the chest pains and unusal
tiredness. You can insist on a test to rule out heart disease.

Stress and anxiety have been a problem for me for years that
i've just accepted as part of life. Some people have found
success in counseling. Cant help you much there. Good luck

For about 3 years I had anxiety on and off (probably a lot longer when I think about it). The worst symptom for me was the chest pain, although the dizzy panic attacks where I felt I would pass out should also be mentioned.
Just want to share with you what I did, I am now anxiety free, I feel great and it is mostly due to a free natural substance - water.
I now drink 2-3 litres of water a day (i'm 85kg). Thinking positive thoughts was the hardest part to change, if you are aware about what you're thinking about - and stop negative thoughts in their tracks, and drink a lot of water - it can only help your situation - give it a go.
It makes perfect sense to me now, my anxiety was my bodies way of telling me it required the 2nd most vital thing it needs next to oxygen, water. The pains were also a product of the negative thoughts that were circling in my head (always feeling like I was going to die - doom and gloom).

Good luck, please drink a lot of water and be aware of your thoughts.... :d
