My name is wid and i'am a highschool student of 15 years of age and i'am doing a reserch project on children's leukemia and the lack of insufficent support groups. If theres anyone out there with childrens leukemia or is a family member of a child with leukemia and has attented a support group please help me answer the following questions about support groups

1. Do they do any good?

2. In your opinion what can be done to improve them?

3. What are some of the excerices you did in any of your sessions?

4. Did you feel comftable?

5. Was it hard to locate one?

Thanx you for your help.

Hey! I'm not sure what date you posted this but I thought I would reply anyways.

Firstly can I say that my bf wasnt a child, he got diagnosed with aml when he was 24 and fought it for 2 years. He is now in remission and will hopfully stay there!

1. Do they do any good? My bf didnt want to talk to anyone about it, he was offered alot of counselling and phycology sessions but wanted to keep it to himself and if he really needed to talk to someone he would talk to me or his family

2. In your opinion what can be done to improve them? I believe he may have handled it better if he talked to someone about it that had the skills in what to say as I would just get upset when he got upset.

3. What are some of the excerices you did in any of your sessions? I'm guessing if he did go to a support meeting they would talk about how they are feeling and strategies in coping with the disease that they were presented with, to form friendships with others that are in the same position as they are.

4. Did you feel comftable? I felt comfortable talking to my bf about how he was feeling and what he was thinking although it just made me feel hopeless as I couldnt help him.

5. Was it hard to locate one? Ive noticed that there are alot of online support groups but I wouldnt know where there would be one in our town

i hope this helps!!
