My mother has had hep c for over 20 years now and started experiencing syptoms in 1997. Since then she hasn't been able to work or really do anything. She was having every side affect possible, depression and suicidal thoughts, insomnia, ocd, etc. They decided to put her on the interferon. She was about three weeks into it when she became really sick from the medication. Sine then shes been in and out of the hospital and has developed nerve damage. They put her on pain medication which wasn't working, so they just keep doubling her medication. I see my mom wasting away to skin and bones. She confused all the time and can't carry a conversation. It's the scariest thing in the world to see her like this. Is there anything that can be done? Please help if you can.
