If you are both that worried, get her to have a blood test. They are 100% accurate, I think.

But if she had her period, and the hpt test said negative, I dont think she would be.

But anything is possible.

It could be anything.

Exercise. If she's doing more or less than usual.
Stress. If she is more, or even less stressed than usual.
Growth. If she had a sudden growth spurt.
Female company. If she's spent alot of time around a group of females.
Eating. If she's eating more or less than usual.

Sorry I can pin point exactly why she had a sudden period.

Hope this helps.......
With my first 2 pregnancies I had threatened miscarriges, normal implatation bleeding is spotting over a small amount of time..... Normally any where between 20 minutes to 5 hours but it is basically a smear of blood on the toilet paper or a drop on your nickers....... T/m's are slight bleeding that lasts for a few days but is not as heavy as a period and is bright red in colour........
T/m's can lead to full miscarriges ( as I experianced with pregnancy number 3) often the bleeding starts off light and as spotting and lasts a few days...... Then the full miscarrige happens and if it is early enough in the pregnancy ie between 4-8 weeks often the woman feels nothing more than the normal pains she would experiance during her period, the only indicator would be a prolonged period....... Early miscarriges are often complication free and if that is what happened to your g/f there is no real way to tell because you had not confermed the pregnancy b4 the bleeding....... If she bled and it was a s heavy as a normal period and it was prolonged and the test says not pregnant then there is almost a 99.9 % chance that she is not pregnant....... Just take more care next time and wear a condom!
Good luck

We cant tell you what the problem is, if there is a problem, then she needs to be asking a doctor.

Her period, well if she is stressing as much as you are, her periods bound to be a bit off this month.

Just chill, wait till next month and see what happens.
Or if u cant do that, ask her to take a blood test.

How does she feel about the situation?

Anything can happen..

Trust those 3 words..
I was spotting a lil bit, every 28 days, gradually decreasing the amount every month, then went to the doctor cuz I was concerned.. And whizzle dizzle dazzle.. I was 19 weeks.. Dont ask how I couldn't have possibly not known.. I just thought those times I had morning sickness, I thought it was the flu going around.. Other than that I didn't pay much attention.. I was really athletic, which meant I tried my best to pull myself together during those times... And I was also wondering where the extra weight came from.. But now, i've got a healthy baby boy, born 10lbs 1oz..... But, its always safe to get her checked early, so the doctor could monitor properly, have early prenatal care...

Wait it out and test agian but have her relax and calm down stress only makes things worse and you need to relax too... How old is she? And you can get pregnant off of precum so no the pull out method is not effective... Why did she have an 8 day period? Thats long

yes, I did spot, mistakenly thought it for my period, because it came at the same time every month...
