Left Side Pain Maybe a Spleen Issue Posted: 01-24-05 04:51am
Hi, friday evening (1-20-05) I was
sparring with one of my instructors, and
seems my left side below my ribs was a
target for harder than usual contacts.
Later that night, about 3 hours later, as
I was laying down relaxing and my left
side all of a sudden felt like I had a
strong muscle cramp. The pain kinda had
a center to it but I could not pinpoint
it. I thought I had an injured rib but
it wasn't. I had taken some advil for
the pain, it seemed to goaway after awhile
so I went to sleep. At 2am I woke up and
my left side was really hurting. I
thought, oh yea, I just needed to use the
restroom. So I did, and nothing unusual.
Took some more advil, went to sleep.
And at 4am or so I woke up with the same
pain. I tried to find a way to laydown
that would not hurt. Seemed if I slept
on my right side it was almost manageable.
Was able to go back to sleep after a
bit. Then got up about 8am. While
trying to go back to sleep I was thinking
and I realized that I didn't eat dinner
the night before because I really had no
urge and the pain was an interuption to my
normal routine.
The same thing happened satarday and
sunday night as I layed down to relax and
watch some tv.
Now here it is 1-24-05 about 2am.
Because this pain seems to hit when I
laydown for a bit. I do not lay down
during the day because it isn't something
I do so I don't know if the pain would
occur during the day or not.
When I woke up sat. And sun. (late
around 8am) my side did seem to feel
better. However I usually wake up around
5:30am-6am every morning.
This pain is kind of a burning sensation
but I cannot tell for sure. I have not
felt anything like this before. I have
had injured ribs, arms, legs but nothing
broken.
I was hoping that friday night's pain
issue was a single incident. Now I am
very concerned because I am still having
pain issues and now that I think about it
I have not eaten meals like I normaly do.
I didn't even feel like ordering a pizza
for the weekend.

pain in the spleen area - under the left breast Posted: 08-23-08 22:09pm
I have been experiencing severe pain under
my left breast which is in the spleen area
- it hurts when i am just sitting,
standing, lying down - and the pain comes
and goes - it gets worse then goes away
then returns shortly - i haven't mentioned
this to my dr because i forget (i have MS
so i have a severe problem with my short
term memory) recently my dr sent me for
blood work and the liver count/enzymes
came back abnormal - i am going for a
sonagram then a ct scan of the liver and
the pancreas due to the abnormal blood
work on the liver - this pain i am not
sure if it is related or not how do i find
out? i am going to call my dr on monday
to see if she can also add the spleen to
be checked out with the sonagram and the
ct scan - nothing i do seems to make the
pain start or stop !!! can someone help me
out with this pain?
