Epilim Posted: 01-26-05 23:54pm
Hello
I have been taking epilim for
just over 1 yr now and I am on 2400mg a
day of it. I have had alot of weight
gain. 15-20kgs. I am from australia. I
am also on keppra now mixing with the
epilim. I take 1000mg a day of the
keppra. Keppra is supposed to be good
with weight loss. Epilim has a bad side
effect of weight gain and I have spoken to
my dr about it many times. To me it makes
me feel hungry all the time. I have
tryied to keep fruit around and stop
eating bread.
I have lost a little but only 3 kgs of
what I have gained. I somewhat depresses
me that I have to take this to stop my
seizures and yet it creates another
problem.
I have just been trying to eat healthy.
My partner is diabetic and I have been
eating a more healthy diet with a lite
walk in the evening.
Also I have one question have you had any
problems with swelling in the ankles?
Sometimes I get swelling in the ankles. I
know its not from the keppra.
I wish there was more information out
there for epileptics and what you could
eat. Prehaps a dietician would be a good
start.
Ciao sami
oh if you hear of a good weight loss
programme please let me know.

I had a really bad ankle swelling problem
last year. I had loads of blood tests
and they all came back clear. Maybe it
could have been related to the epilim
afterall. I'm not a small person by any
means, and I do understand that larger
people are prone to ankle swelling. On
the other hand i'm male, and in my late
20's... And it's rare for young males to
get swollen ankles apparently.
