Prolactinomas also are treated with surgery or radiotherapy, depending on the circumstances

Prolatinoma
Hi, I have been diagnosed with a tumor on my pituitary gland and this was found because I had a prolatin level of over 600. It now is under control with dostinex medication and the tumor has shrunk down to the size of a pinky thumb nail. My concern is my husband and I are thinking of having children and my worry is taking the medication during pregnancy because of possiblity of harming the baby and or me. The prolactin level will become elevated when pregnancy occurs because that is what it does and the medication is needed to keep in down. Also, I will not be able to breast feed because of the medication. My doctor says he has no question that it would be allright. I on the other hand and my husband are still worried. Having to take this medication for the rest of my life is very scary. I am interested in any feedback anyone can give me. Thank you very much.
Signed,
worried possible mother to be

Prolactinoma
I have the same tumor and was told that there was no possibility of getting pregnant. I also took dostinex for a # of years and had to get off because i had no life. I was always sick to my stomach, fatigued, vertigo and a host of other problems. Then i think that it stopped working and the doc suggested i stop taking it. It's almost a year now since i stopped and it is amazing to almost feel normal again. The biggest problem i have now is depression, but i know whats causing it so i try not to stress Talk to your ob-gyn and give them the info on the meds and condition and they should be able to help you figure it out. GOOD LUCK
