Cap With Hole In It~ Wearing Out~ No Money to Replace It Posted: 01-21-05 23:36pm
Well I have a cap thats been in my mouth
since I was a kid...Now in 40's and this
cap has had a hole in it for about two
years.. Dentist said when I felt pain it
would have to be replaced.. Well I have
pain when I chew on that side..So ive
switched sides now.. To avoid the pain..
I have no dental insurnace and I have no
money..Doc says its a 500.00 tooth..
Im totally in debt as is...
I know if I keep on going like it is..It
sooner or later will get infected or
something.. Doc says he cant put a
filling in a cap..So I have been living
with a hole in a silver cap..Which they
dont make silver caps anymore.. Or do
they?
Any help or advice is appreciated..Thanks

Do you live near a dental school??You can
get reduced services and really well
supervised care at a dental school. It may
take a little longer, but you will get your
crown replaced for less than what your
regular dentist would charge. If you do not
live near a dental school, maybe your
dentist will let you make payments-most
will,if you explain your situation.
