Get a checkup
I have taken thyroid medication since I was 13, I'm almost 53. Still thin, not skinny anymore.

As a teenager, things are going to change dramatically as you mature. Get a good checkup, a complete blood workup, every year or so. Eat healthy, with plenty of fresh fruits & veg, brown rice, baked potato...avoid fad foods & drugs of any kind. You're still growing, don't do anything to throw things out of balance. Things will "level out" in time if you'll just be patient.

One other thing - please STOP paying attention to anyone who doesn't know you or your situation who say mean things. Lots of people get a real thrill out of meanness, but you'll be better off to ignore them.

hey i suffer from the same thing. I was 5'7 and 106 lbs. Could not gain weight for the life of me. I started making sure i was taking at least 2000 calories a day. Keep a snack of some kind on you, try to never let yourself get really hungry. All the foods listed on the comment below is major stuff i was told to eat. Extra condiments on my food, keep nuts on u they r great for a snack...very high in calories. olive oil and drink stuff that has calories to it. if ur a big water drinker...drink tea, koolaid or add crystal lite pack to it. I also drank the carnation breakfast once or twice a day. Its a powder u find in the cereal aisle that u mix with milk. Taste like chocolate milk. I also took a multi vitamin everyday. After a cpl weeks I was on my way to weight gain.

What are you eating? How many calories?

Sometimes its not enough to just eat a lot; you need to be eating the right stuff.

agree
im 18 yrs old, 5'8'' and 110 lb. i have been 110 for the past 2 years. Before, ever since i was a little kid i always gained exactly 5 pounds every single year, but now i stopped gaining weight!!! I've always been exceptionally skinny, but i eat healthy and everything..i have a high metabolism. I dance ballet so i exercise daily, but im not anorexic. but because i do "ballet" everyone thinks i have an eating disorder, which is so annoying because i actually think that im too skinny and try to gain weight, which doesn't really work. but i eat healthy, exercise etc.i eat junk food like any normal person. Both of my parents were very skinny and my sister who is taller than and older is only 115 lb and doesn't do literally anything. so im naturally skinny. i guess i need a post-it on my head that says "im not anorexic"

Marijuana can be used to help increase ones appetite. Smoking a small amount of clean marijuana every 2 days can increase your appetite greatly. Of course like any drug, legal, or illegal, there are side affects which might not be desirable.

Hey I think you have been smoking a little too much...not advisable I know people who first gain weight and then became extremely skinny not to mention delusional

Skinny Minnie
The new nick name that I was just given makes me feel so sad. I know there are lots of women out there that would love to be as skinny as me. But I am 5'3" and 96lbs. I have had 1 kid and I am 26 years old. It is really hard for me to find clothes. I have to shop in the kids section and try to find something without sparkles on it is impossible. I can't gain weight no matter what I do. I eat all the time! I have been accused of using drugs, being balimik. I have lost jobs over it caused they have assumed that I use drugs because of my age and I have had a kid. I have recently had my weight up to 106. But I got a cold for a few days and lost it. It took me 4 months to get that much weight on. I don't like to complain about it cause there are so many people out there that have over weight issues. But what about the people that have under weight issues. It is just as hard for us to gain as it is for over weight people to loose.

gaining weight
hey, i just wanted to say tht the right way to gain weight, is to eat proeperly, and tht would b: a protein, carb, fruit and veggie at every meal. Then u should exercise lightly to keep u from losing a nice shape. I also have a tip; go to a nutritionist, they know the right dosages and everything, they will know exactly what to do.
