Post Cataract Infection

My mom underwent a cataract surgery for both eyes around 4 months ago. The operation was within a matter of 21 days of both eyes. However after 45 days rest, her first operated eye (right eye) got red and watery. She consulted the doctor who gave her eye drops and meds to be put for 14 days. When the drops and meds were applied, the redness disappeared but once the course was over it started to appear again. The doctor then sent us to a retina specialist for opinion. The specialist said that everyting seems to be normal but there is some low grade infection in the eye. He again said to put drops and gave a tapering dose of fortipred tablets for 21 days. Again duringthe course, the redness disappeared. However now once again it has surfaced. We visited the doctor today, who now recommends a culture test and putting of some injection in the eye. Could please someone please tell me what this problem is? Its remedies? And also is it a common problem. The vision is perfectly normal, the main problem is redness and water coming from the eyes. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Please tell me your okey! I had a serious infection in my left eye after a cataract surgery. I too had to see a retina doctor and he had to put a ball of three different antibotics in it to save my eye. Then after that treatment I had to get my retina attached and after that a corneal transplant. I have had 7 different operations and I still can't see out of it.My vision is distorted. I too had glaucoma because of the infection and they had to do laser surgery to releave the pressure and it did help. Please give me a up date I haven't heard of anyone else who has gone threw as much as I have. Please don't give up hope. Rena
